Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s business is employing “in-home attorneys” to meddle with the unbiased investigation into mounting allegations of sexual misconduct towards him, a lawyer for a person of his accusers alleged Monday.
Ex-Cuomo aide Charlotte Bennett’s lawyer cited a the latest report “that the Govt Chamber is offering staffers with in-home lawyers to meet up with with them in progress of their investigatory interviews…and to show up at those people interviews with them.”
“It is my comprehending that these lawyers are also ‘debriefing’ staffers just after their interviews with investigators,” attorney Debra Katz wrote in a letter to Lawyer Basic Letitia James.
“This is remarkably inappropriate and we object in the strongest attainable terms to this apparent interference with what you have mentioned would be a ‘thorough and independent’ investigation.”

The probe, introduced earlier this month, is remaining done by outdoors legal professionals led by previous performing Manhattan US Lawyer Joon Kim and veteran work lawyer Anne Clark.
In her a few-web page letter, Katz said Cuomo’s transfer “will have a chilling result on likely witnesses or other accusers,” adding: “We urge you to challenge a directive to the Governor to cease this extremely poor exercise.”

Katz also referred to as on James to “issue a community statement” rebutting a report that her place of work had directed the Government Chamber to conduct a “parallel” probe into allegations that he groped an unknown woman aide in the executive mansion late past yr.

Previous week, a present Cuomo aide, Alyssa McGrath, publicly accused Cuomo of attempting to protect up the alleged incident by asking that accuser “specifically not to tell me” about it.
