CIA Director William Burns termed Russia a “declining” energy in the to start with episode of the intelligence agency’s new podcast, though warning that China is a “central geopolitical challenge” for the U.S.
The CIA’s podcast, “The Langley Data files,” launched Thursday and highlighted Burns as its very first guest.
The podcast will come throughout the CIA’s 75th anniversary — a time, Burns mentioned, for the company to “mirror on how we want to manage ourselves to navigate correctly what is an unbelievably intricate international terrain.”
Burns warned that terrain features a “main ability level of competition with climbing powers like China,” which he referred to as a “central geopolitical obstacle.”
