The broadly-predicted Least Wages Purchase 2022 (“the Order”) was gazetted on 27 April 2022. The Order, pursuant to part 23 of the Countrywide Wages Consultative Council Act 2011, improves the minimal wage nationwide to RM1,500 from 1 May perhaps 2022. There is a temporary exemption till 31 December 2022 from the boost for companies with less than 5 employees.

New minimum amount wage from 1 Might 2022

Temporary exemption for businesses with considerably less than 5 workforce
There is a temporary exemption right until 31 December 2022 for companies with significantly less than 5 workers. Even so, this exemption does not utilize to businesses who carry out experienced activities (as categorised under the Malaysia Conventional Classification of Occupations revealed by the Ministry of Human Resources), irrespective of variety of staff members.
